Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO) shipping is the industry standard for international vehicle transport. Your car is driven directly onto a specialist cargo vessel, secured in position using wheel-lashings, and transported safely to your destination port.

RoRo accounts for roughly 70 percent of all UK vehicle exports because it removes the cost of a container, the labour to load it and the dwell time required to consolidate cargo. Cars are driven on by trained stevedores, secured to deck using lashing straps and wheel chocks, and remain on enclosed multi-deck garages for the full voyage. RoRo is the most cost-effective option for any roadworthy vehicle. Indicative 2026 customer rates from the UK are: Cyprus from £850, Spain from £900, Nigeria from £1,200, South Africa from £1,200, UAE Jebel Ali from £1,350, USA Baltimore or Galveston from £1,600, and Australia Fremantle or Brisbane from £1,800. Pricing depends on cubic metre (length × width × height), origin port and the specific carrier rotation. Each booking includes export customs, terminal handling, the bill of lading and marine all-risks insurance up to the declared value.

RoRo is suited to standard saloons, hatchbacks, estates, SUVs, 4x4s, light commercial vans, motorcycles on dedicated trailers and high-and-heavy plant up to 50 tonnes. It is not suitable for non-runners, project cars, vehicles carrying personal effects or any shipment where the owner wants a sealed container. For those use cases we recommend container or shared container shipping. Pre-shipment preparation is simple: less than a quarter tank of fuel, no loose items in the cabin, no aftermarket alarms armed, working battery, working handbrake and a single set of keys handed in at the port.
